The Great Ocean Walk

One of the worlds great walks
The Great Ocean Walk on Victoria’s spectacular west coast, stretches
91 kms from Apollo Bay to the iconic Twelve Apostles. It passes through
the beautiful National Parks and overlooks the Marine National Park and
Sanctuary.
The Great Ocean Walk hugs the rugged coastline, taking hikers to places
never experienced before. These include sandy beaches where your
footprints will often be the first of the day, thick forests and some of
Australia’s highest sea-cliffs.
Walkers will experience spectacular coast and forest scenery including
rocky platforms, sheltered beaches, rivers, forests and coastal
heathland. Because most of the walk is within National Parks, it
is pristine. The air is so fresh and clear. There are many layers of
contrast and amazing untouched beauty.
Get in touch with your inner self. There are places on the walk
where you feel incredibly remote from civilisation. Enjoy places
many people do not even know exist. The final section of the walk
concludes with spectacular views of the Twelve Apostles.
Suggested Sections of the Walk
Each section is a day’s walk but you do not have to do them all or in
any particular order. Two days is the minimum (3 nights).
Difficulty of walk
More detail will be given with each description above but generally
the walk is moderate. However Milanesia Beach is a steep climb to the
cliff tops but the sensational views are worth the effort.
