One of the worlds great walks, The Great Ocean
Walk on Victoria’s spectacular west coast, stretches 91 kilometres
from Apollo Bay to the iconic Twelve Apostles. It passes through
the beautiful National Parks, overlooks the Marine National Park and
Sanctuary, and is right out Whispering Seas front door!
The Great Ocean Walk has been designed so that walkers can 'step on and
step off' the trail at a number of places. And what better place
to 'step off' than at Castle Cove where you have a short walk to
Whispering Seas Otways
Guest House which is situated approximately half way along the walk.
Also a step away is the Otway Ranges, truly a
region to whet the appetite of even the most widely travelled walker.
The Otway Ranges form one of Victoria’s very best walking areas.
It is a region of great variety; swampy plains of the Lower Aire River,
open forest near Cape Otway, rolling hills behind Apollo Bay,
rainforests and fern gullies of the Kennet River, pine plantations of
Beech Forest and heathlands of Aireys Inlet.
As a backdrop to all this, the seascapes over Bass Strait with the
crashing long swells that roll in from the Southern Ocean. Come
